CFUW-Ottawa Club Projects
Dragon Boat Races
CFUW-Ottawa has formed a team to compete for the first time this year in the Dragon Boat Festival June 20th-23rd. This project contributes to the improvement of women and girls in the community through the Dragon Boat Festival's fundraising for local charities. Each year charities are chosen which support the Ottawa community and most charities chosen will improve the socio-cultural and economic lives of women and girls in the Ottawa area.

Numerous benefits include better preparing children for entry to the Ontario school system; empowering parents to prepare their children for school; breaking down barriers to the integration of recent immigrants to Canadian life; and mentoring those parents and program workers interested in pursuing learning or career plans.
