Topic: Promoting Gender Equality From Within
Christine Theresa Whitecross has twice been named one of Canada's 100 most-powerful women. A graduate of Queen's University and the Royal Military College of Canada, she has served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Germany, Bosnia, and Afghanistan. She is a retired Canadian Lieutenant-General, who was promoted to this rank in 2015, when she became the most senior female Canadian military engineer. Also in 2015, she was appointed Commander of Military Personnel, launching Operation HONOUR to address sexual misconduct challenges within the Canadian Armed Forces. She was also the first female commandant of the NATO Defense College in Rome.
