Topic: Reflections on a Quarter Century of Nurturing Community Philanthropy
Barbara has overseen the growth of the Foundation, since its inception in 1987, to the eighth largest of the 175 community foundations in Canada. Awarded the Order of Canada in 2008 for her contributions to the community foundation movement in Canada, she was a founding director on the Board of Community Foundations of Canada for 12 years. She has worked with the Council on Foundations and with the Transatlantic Community Foundation Network. She has been a Governor of Carleton University, President of the Ottawa Estate Planning Council and of the Ottawa School of Art, and Board member of United Way.
