2015-2016 CFUW-Ottawa Scholarship Winners

The CFUW-Ottawa Scholarship Trust Fund has supported a total of 24 scholarships and awards for 2015 - 2016. 

The Trustees are most grateful to the Club Membership and are proud to work on their behalf to provide meaningful assistance to deserving students.

 Scholarship winners 2015 - 2016 

Sherrylyn Sarazin with Charlotte Rigby.  A new CFUW-Ottawa scholarship will be awarded annually to an indigenous student at Algonquin College.  It is named after Sherrylyn, a graduate of Algonquin College and the first woman to be elected to the Council of the Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation. 

Viktoriia Grynenko, from the University of Ottawa (winner of the Barbara Newbegin Music Scholarship), performed Tzigane by Maurice Ravel, for violin and piano, accompanied by Ruby Jin. 

 Bronwyn Thies Thompson from Carleton University (winner of the Helen Nininger Music Scholarship) sang An Evening Hymn by Henry Purcell accompanied by James Wright.  

Emma Fleet from Carleton University (winner of the Earl B. Connell Foundation Scholarship) performed the first movement ("Allegro"), Violin Sonata No. 5 in F Major, Op. 24 (1801) by Ludwig van Beethoven, often known as the "Spring" sonata (Frühlingssonate) accompanied by James Wright
